2017, un team di ricercatori facenti capo al JPL (NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory) scopre in maniera del tutto casuale un meteorite (nana bruna) diretto nel sistema solare. Tale corpo celeste, rinominato Tamara, causerà ingenti cambiamenti. La più drammatica e tragica conseguenza sarà quella legata alla deviazione di Mercurio che da li a 121 anni entrerà in collisione con la Terra.
A questo punto parte a rotta di collo tutta una corsa all’evoluzione scientifica (con qualche colpo di scena) atta a far modo di scongiurare questo tragico epilogo per il pianeta Terra.

Personalmente ho trovato questo libro entusiasmante. È scritto talmente bene che sembra ripercorrere fatti che davvero potrebbero accadere. Non tralascia niente, dall’evoluzione tecnologia ai problemi sociali legati ad essa.
Lo consiglio vivamente e non ve ne pentirete.

In 2017, a team of researchers from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) accidentally discovers a meteorite (a brown dwarf) heading towards the solar system. This celestial body, renamed Tamara, will cause significant changes. The most dramatic and tragic consequence will be the deviation of Mercury, which, 121 years later, will collide with Earth.
At this point, a race for scientific advancement (with some twists) begins in full force, aimed at averting this tragic outcome for the planet Earth.

Personally, I found this book exciting. It is so well written that it seems to recount events that could truly happen. It leaves nothing out, from technological evolution to the social problems associated with it.
I highly recommend it, and you won’t regret it.
