Un gruppo uomini e donne selezionate del piante rosso tenta allora di invertire questo processo con azioni al limite della fantascienza.
Questo secondo libro di Paolo Broccolino ne mostra la notevole crescita in termini di narrativa (non che 121 anni all’estinzione sia brutto anzi). Per come la storia è strutturata, per le idee che mette in campo, per il coinvolgimento che procura la considero sicuramente un must da leggere per gli amanti della letteratura fantascientifica ma non solo.

The Viking 1 lander arrives on the planet Mars in 1976. Immediately from Earth, a strange light on the horizon is noticed. It will later be discovered to be Morse code coming from who knows where.
Many centuries later on Mars, Earth is “struck” by a strange virus that “compels” Earthlings to reckless actions regarding the climate, indirectly involving the Mars colony, which still heavily depends on the planet. A group of selected men and women from the red planet then attempts to reverse this process with actions bordering on science fiction.
This second book by Paolo Broccolino demonstrates significant growth in terms of narrative (not that 121 years to extinction is bad at all). Considering the story’s structure, the ideas it presents, and the engagement it provides, I consider it definitely a must-read for lovers of science fiction literature and beyond.
